Boston Tufts Alliance softball outing a grand slam
September 29, 2005--“Team Boston Tufts Alliance”
rallied to an impressive 26-7 victory over a team of Johns Hopkins
and Boston University alumni on Saturday, September 17 at Cassidy
Fields in Cleveland Circle.
“It may have been the team shirts or energy from the dessert
cannoli and pastries (brought along to feed the team), but for one
reason or another we had the right stuff out on the field today,”
noted co-organizer, Michele Shelton, A92.
Despite
threats of rain and the unfortunate timing of Boston College’s
first football game of the season, the co-sponsored alumni event
attracted a great turnout and fun was had by all. Following the
game, participants from all the schools continued with high spirits
to the Publick House on Beacon Street (original plans of going to
Cityside were abandoned because of long lines of BC football fans).
Ideas were exchanged about involving young alumni at events in new
and innovative ways.
“The success of this first game has led us to think about
organizing a league for next season to expand on the idea,”
said Shelton.
