Cummings alumni and friends tee up support for student scholarships
November 7, 2007--Alumni and friends of Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine registered above par scores when measuring the success of the 7th Annual Golf Tournament for Student Scholarships held on October 14 at Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton, MA. The tournament netted $10,000 making it the most successful single-day fundraiser to date.
Proceeds from the tournament support the Cummings School general scholarship fund and the Kenneth C. Morris, V85, Memorial Scholarship Fund, the first-ever alumni endowed scholarship which was established in 2006 by members of the veterinary class of 1985 in memory of their classmate and colleague, Ken Morris.
“We had a very full tournament this year and by far the highest level of support by sponsors and tournament players,” notes Cummings School faculty member and tournament organizer, Dr. Karl Andrutis, V88. “The camaraderie between alumni and supporters of the school is always strong, but is even more so when coming together in support of current students.”
Credit for the event’s success is owed to the tournament sponsors, and the Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine greatly thanks the following sponsors for their support:
