Seven alumni honored with 2007 Distinguished Service Awards

Seven Tufts alumni will be honored with Distinguished Service Awards by
the Tufts University Alumni Association (TUAA) for their service to
Tufts, their professions or their communities. For the fourth time, TUAA
will also present one alumnus with the Young Alumni Achievement Award.
Alumni will be honored on April 28 at the annual awards dinner,

Neil L. Chayet, A60, A84P. President of Chayet Communications Group, Inc. Broadcasts Looking at the Law, a daily radio program nationally syndicated by CBS.
Daniel J. Doherty, III, H03. Founder and principal of Eastern Development, LLC. Strong advocate for many youth causes, and avid supporter and board member of numerous charitable and academic concerns.
Lisa Lax, J86. While at NBC Sports, won numerous awards as producer and director.
Co-founder, LookAlike Productions. Together with her twin, Nancy Stern Winters, wrote, directed, and produced the award-winning documentary, Emmanuel’s Gift.
Lorenzo Lepore, D.M.D., A74, D77, A03P. Highly involved Tufts alumnus, and founder of Encore Etc., the company that pioneered MaestroMD, the first and only system for sterilizing wind instruments.
Bernard E. Maney, M.D., A49, M53, J81P. Former president of the Falmouth Free Clinic, which provides medical services for the uninsured of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Nancy Stern Winters, J86. Award-winning producer and director with expertise in news, sports, and entertainment. Over the past six years, executive producer for various prime time television programs under the banner of Jumbolaya Productions.
Winner of the fourth Young Alumni Achievement Award:
Andrea Gall Schmitt, J90. Former president of the Los Angeles Tufts Alliance, and founding member of the Tufts Entertainment Network. Creator of "From the Hill to Hollywood" and "From Ballou to Broadway."
