Five alumni win big in online community prize drawing

December 10, 2007--The Tufts University Alumni Association congratulates the winners of the 2007 Tufts Online Community prize drawing. The drawing was open to all registered members of the community.

First prize winner Emily was excited to get her SoundDock and iPod Nano just before the holidays. The Friedman School of Nutrition graduate uses the Tufts Online Community to find and keep in touch with former classmates who have moved to other parts of the world.  “The online community is a good resource, and I hope more people will use it,” said Emily.

Second prize winner Marc was surprised, he said, because he had “never won anything like this.”  Marc logs in to the online community to update his profile when any of his information changes, and he stays connected to Tufts by reading email updates for alumni.  He added that the timing of the prize couldn’t have been better, “because I’m pretty sure my daughter just stole my other camera.”

Since its launch in 1999, the Tufts Online Community has grown to more than 37,000 registered members. Membership is free, and alumni enjoy access to a searchable directory; library databases; a job and resume bank, and other useful tools that help them stay connected to each other and Tufts.
