TUAA and Office of Alumni Relations move to new building
September 7, 2007--The Tufts University Alumni Association and the Office of Alumni Relations in June relocated to new offices at 80 George Street, Medford. Alumni House, or 95 Talbot Avenue, now houses the Experimental College.
The new address is also home to the University Advancement Division, which includes many departments in support of the fundraising and alumni relations.
Tufts purchased the former Dame School from the City of Medford several years ago, and renovated the building to provide a centralized home for a multitude of work groups previously housed in a variety of buildings on the main campus.
Visitors will find the Office of Alumni Relations conveniently located on the first floor. Alumni Council, regional, and class reunion committees are welcome to use new conference rooms for meetings and receptions. Visitor parking is available. George Street is easily accessed via College Avenue or Winthrop Street.
As the staff began moving, careful attention was paid to keeping treasured furniture and decorative items in Alumni House safe and available for use in the new location. Many thanks to Sondra Szymczak, J59, and Maurene Golden, J59, G61, for their diligence in identifying valuable many items with historic significance to TUAA and for working closely with the Office of Digital Collections and Archives.
Mail to the alumni association and to the Office of Alumni Relations can be sent to 80 George Street, Suite 100-3. Email addresses and phone numbers all remain the same, (617) 627-3532 and 1-800-THE-ALUM (1-800-843-2586).
