Cummings Veterinary Reunion & Comeback 2007: A warm welcome back
October 4, 2007--A September heat wave augmented a warm welcome back to the Grafton campus, as Cummings veterinary alumni returned to reconnect at the annual fall Open House, Reunion and Comeback on September 8, 2007.
There was exceptionally strong alumni turnout as the classes of 1987, 1992, 1997 and 2002 celebrated their 20th, 15th, 10th and 5th reunions respectively. Amid the crowds from the general public taking in Cummings Open House festivities, afternoon highlights for alumni included an insider's tour of new facilities, and Continuing Education opportunities with credit.
Later in the afternoon under the Big-Top tent, Veterinary Alumni Association President, Bill Rosenblad, V95, welcomed alumni and presented two special awards. Jonathan Epstein, V02, was presented the “Outstanding Alumni Award” for his work in the field of public health and conservation medicine. Professor Emeritus, Dr. Lawrence Klein, Jr., A85P, from the Department of Radiology was inducted into the “Faculty Hall of Fame.” He was chosen by veterinary alumni for his outstanding commitment to excellence in teaching.
Reunion Chair, Linda “Sip” Siperstein, V02, presented Dean Deborah Kochevar a check in support of the Cummings Annual Fund for $54, 645, noting a substantial increase in giving over the previous fiscal year.
The Cummings Veterinary Alumni Association wishes to thank and acknowledge VCA Animal Hospitals for the generous support and sponsorship for Veterinary Alumni Reunion and Comeback 2007.
