The New York Tufts Alliance is pleased to host

Gregory Maguire, G90, presenting "Can I Get There by Candlelight?", a lecture on writing for children and adults, and the making of Wicked and other works of fiction. You can view a transcript of one of Maguire's lectures online.

About the author:
Gregory Maguire, G90, is the author of both adult and children’s literature, including Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which has been adapted for the award-winning Broadway musical, Wicked. Maguire, who received his Ph.D. in English and American literature from Tufts, has traveled across the United States and abroad as a consultant in creative writing for children. He is a founder and co-director of Children’s Literature New England, Inc., a nonprofit educational charity established in 1987. Maguire is also a contributor to Am I Blue?: Coming Out from the Silence, a collection of short stories for gay and lesbian teenagers.
