"Refugees Affected by Forced Migration" with Cynthia Buiza
Description: Please join the Los Angeles Tufts Alliance as Fletcher alumna Cynthia Buiza discusses the plight of refugees affected by forced migration and the continuing search for solutions. Buiza will provide background information on forced migration as a global problem, with a focus on Burma, as it has been the site of one of the longest running civil conflicts in the world.
Light refreshments will be served and, as always, family and friends are welcome!

Cynthia Buiza Biography:
Cynthia Buiza, a native of the Philippines, received her Master of Arts in International Relations from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in 2007. Currently, Buiza is the Director of Policy and Advocacy at The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights in Los Angeles. She has spent the past 12 years working internationally in various policy development, program coordination and refugee advocacy positions, specializing in human displacement, humanitarian emergencies, and conflict resolution in Southeast Asia. Buiza has also lectured and published extensively on topics related to civil strife and refugee issues.
