Tufts Lawyers Assocition and The New York City Women's Networking Group
Reception featuring Tufts President, Lawrence S. Bacow

Description: Please join Tufts Lawyers Association (TLA), a chapter of the Tufts University Alumni Association, and the NYC Women's Networking Group for an evening of networking, refreshments, and a special presentation by Tufts President Lawrence S. Bacow. The president's topic will be: "Congress and the Cost of Higher Education: Should Endowment Spending Be Regulated?"

President, Lawrence S. Bacow
As twelfth President of Tufts University, Lawrence S, Bacow has emphasized increased collaboration among Tufts’ eight schools and generated creativity and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary study while extending the university’s longstanding commitment to active citizenship and civic engagement. Under his leadership, Tufts has enhanced its national and international visibility as an innovative leader in American higher education while strengthening the financial resources to support exceptional teaching and research. 

A lawyer and economist whose research focuses on environmental policy, President Bacow received his S.B. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his J.D. from Harvard Law School, and his M.P.P. and Ph.D. from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.  Before assuming the Presidency at Tufts, President Bacow served as Chancellor at MIT.  He serves as a director of Tufts Medical Center, the Omidyar-Tufts Microfinance Fund, the Cummings Foundation, and Campus Compact and as a trustee of Wheaton College.
