| The Middle Kingdom & the Roof of the World |
Dates: August 27 through September 11, 2007
|
Description: Travel to China with us, in conjunction with the Tufts in the World program series. Our program, entitled The Middle Kingdom & The Roof of the World, is designed to sample the diversity of China’s regional cultures, from the metropolitan and modern to the rural and historic. Beyond Beijing and Shanghai, we will travel to ancient towns, take a cruise, stroll in magnificent gardens, and marvel at expansive architecture and antiquities. We will visit Lhasa in Tibet, Xian, Chongqing, the fabled Three Gorges on the Yangzi River, and Zhujiajiao. An optional four-day, three-night extension to Hong Kong will enable us to savor the unique blend of the East and West, and the lingering British legacy.
Our journey coincides with the meetings of the Tufts International Board of Overseers in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. At these venues, with invitations to selected University-hosted events, we can mix and mingle with President Bacow, Provost Bharucha, and the deans and administrators in attendance.

Cost: $5,790 per person, plus airfare, based on double occupancy
Single Supplement: $1,590
Hong Kong Optional Extension (September 11-14): $1,990; Single Supplement for Extension: $790
