January 14, 2008-- As a graduate of Tufts University, you have the distinct privilege to help shape the future of our university through the election of alumni trustees and members of the Tufts Alumni Council. It’s an election process that is very important to the success of our alma mater; the Nominating Committee has deliberated carefully to select these candidates, all of whom have demonstrated a willingness to serve Tufts.
Alumni Trustees make up nearly a quarter of the total number of trustees. There are four candidates for two open alumni trustee positions. All alumni may vote for any two candidates. Once elected, Alumni Trustees represent the entire alumni body, not just the school from which they graduated.
Also presented is a slate of candidates for the Tufts Alumni Council, the governing body of the Tufts University Alumni Association. Anyone who has attended Tufts for at least one year is a member of TUAA, and many alumni get directly involved with the organization to develop and improve alumni services and programs. This year there are six places for representatives of the undergraduate programs in Arts, Sciences & Engineering, as well as one place each for a graduate of the Medical School and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. You may vote for candidates to the Alumni Council representing your own school(s).
To vote, you'll need to be a registered
member of the Tufts
Online Community. The deadline for voting
is 5 p.m. E.S.T., Monday, March 17, 2008. Election results
will be announced in May.
