Turnaround season

The Jumbo men’s basketball team went further this winter than any team in the 102-year history of the sport at Tufts. Advancing to the “Sweet 16” round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, the Jumbos set a school record for victories with their 23–7 season . “From top to bottom, this is the best team I’ve had as far as talent, chemistry, and having a common goal,” says Bob Sheldon, who was named the D3Hoops.com Northeast Region Coach of the Year. When Tufts’ season ended with a 90–85 loss in overtime at Amherst , the team had the support of the more than 400 Jumbo fans who traveled to the game. The team ignited Jumbo spirit on campus with its turnaround season after winning only eight games just two years ago.
