Dollar-wise DegreesYou always knew that Tufts University was a bargain, but now it’s official. Read all about it in the February issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, which ranks private universities according to how much scholarly bang they provide for the buck. Starting with data from more than six hundred schools, the magazine’s researchers singled out fifty that “provide a top-quality education at an affordable price—usually with generous financial aid.” Tufts handily made the cut, standing at number nineteen. Among the stats that impressed critics at Kiplinger’s: an admission rate of twenty-eight percent, a student/faculty ratio of seven to one, and a comparatively light debt load at graduation—$20,668. |
