Senior Elections: Call for Nominations
An opportunity for 2009 graduates to join the Tufts University Alumni Council

DEADLINE DECEMBER 15!

Nominate yourself for the Alumni Council by emailing:

seniornomination@tufts.edu

Each year the Tufts Alumni Council, the governing body of the Tufts University Alumni Association, invites any member of the undergraduate senior class to run for open positions referred to as "Transitional Members".

The senior class has the opportunity to elect four of their peers to serve in this volunteer capacity for a five year term.  These valuable alumni-volunteer positions ensure a representative voice from the Class of 2009 within the Tufts Alumni Association.

During tenure as elected alumni volunteers, Transitional Alumni Council Members are offered a committee assignment and are encouraged to participate at the semi-annual all-member council meetings held in the fall and spring. Transitional Members have historically made a great impact in defining programming that meets the needs of younger alumni and in promoting higher Tufts Alumni Association visibility to students and the campus community.  Previously elected Transitional Members have also volunteered with the Tufts Alumni Admissions Program, have become active with the Regional Alumni Chapter in the city where they live after graduation, and have started new shared interest groups.

Students may self-nominate to run as a transitional alumni council member in the 2009 elections. Nominations should be submitted by email to seniornomination@tufts.edu
Nominations may be submitted through Monday, December 15, 2008.

Following the submission, each nominee will be asked to provide a short biographical sketch which highlights their undergraduate achievements, and what they might like to be involved in accomplishing as an Alumni Council member. Class voting will be conducted online in April.

Alumni Council members from class of 2008 (L to R) Bruni Hirsch, Harsha Dronamraju, Jen Bokoff, and Chloe Rossen.

Recently appointed transitional members from the graduating class of 2008 and earlier would be willing to take a call or email from any senior interested in learning more about this opportunity.

Inquiries and questions may be directed to Jonathan Kaplan in the Office of Alumni Relations, jonathan.kaplan@tufts.edu or x7-5493 or 1-800-843-2586.
