How to make your info in the directory public or private
NOTE:
Classes 1999-2004 - profiles are
hidden by default; you can change these privacy settings
if you want friends to see your contact information.
Classes 1998 and down & 2006 and up - profiles are public by default; you can change these privacy settings if you want to hide part or all of your profile.
1. Click on the "Alumni Directory" button on the left
hand side of this page.
2. Click on the link: "View/update your online directory listing
page"
3. You'll be prompted for your username and password if you haven't
yet logged into the online community.
4. You'll come to a page that lists all the information contained
in your directory profile. Under the header "Directory Listing
Privacy Preferences," you'll need to click on the link that
says "Hide/unhide information from view in your directory listing." You have several privacy options, 5, 6, or 7 below:
5. Keeping all info private:
Next to the Online Directory Consent paragraph, there is a "hide"
box that if *checked* ensures your *entire* listing is private and
unviewable by all other registered alumni users. You may have to
scroll right to see this hide box. Click on the box to check it
and make your entire record private. Be sure to click the "update" button on the bottom of this page to enact the changes to your viewing
preferences.
6. Keeping all info public:
Make sure this top-most hide box is *unchecked* if you want friends
to be able to find you. Be sure to click the "update" button on the bottom of this page to enact the changes to your viewing
preferences.
7. Making selected info private:
You can also choose to keep only certain parts of your listing private
while keeping others viewable. Choose which you wish to keep private
by clicking on the individual "hide" boxes next to each
piece of information. Make sure the top most hide box is unchecked
or your entire record will remain hidden. Be sure to click the "update" button on the bottom of this page to enact the changes to your viewing
preferences.
8. Be absolutely sure to click the "update" button on
the bottom of this page to ensure your preferences are enacted.
