This course focuses on the collection and analysis of observational data.

Topics will include:

• Magnitude systems
• The optical spectrum
• Applications of the laws of radiation
• Atmospheres
• Interiors and evolution of normal stars
• Stellar motions and populations
• Peculiar stars, including variable stars, white dwarfs, pulsars, and black holes

Please note: Astronomy 21 is NOT a pre-requisite for Astronomy 22
