A New Era in Music Begins at Tufts
The Tufts University Department of Music began a new era in music studies, performance, and experience when the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center was dedicated on February 9, 2007. From the new classrooms, practice rooms, rehearsal spaces, and recital halls, everything in the center was designed with exquisite attention to detail. The new 55,000-square-foot center will allow Tufts students and faculty, along with the wider community, to learn, teach, listen, create, perform, and enjoy music in a way that has previously not been possible on campus. HITTING THE RIGHT NOTES
This fall, Tufts began offering a selection of introductory music classes to children from its host communities of Medford and Somerville and beyond. About 75 kids aged 3 to 13 signed up for classes ranging from African drumming to group piano (click here for an audio slideshow feature of the various classes).
