Here's the minutes: - Officers - the Treasurer and V.P. resigned. We are accepting nominations for those two offices now. Elections will be held on Monday, 28 September 1998, at 7:30pm in room 212 of Anderson Hall. Please email abetcher@emerald.tufts.edu (Anna Betcher) if you wish to run for either of those offices. - Semester Plans * Updating the program booklet * we will be holding a "cocktail" at some point to schmooze with profs and industry people * the usability course is getting underway. first meeting is on Tuesday, 22 Septamber 1998, at 3:50pm in the EVS room of Paige Hall * the career center has a new "internship coordinator" who will be speaking to us at our third meeting, date TBA * a variety of speakers at the THFES meetings, as well as during the usability course * a tour of the usability facilities of Fideltiy Investments * if you have anything else you think would be cool, please tell us so that we can make it so - There will be an election schedule change: Currently, things work so that officers hold office September - September But, we would like to rearrange things so that they hold office January - January instead. This should help new officers become better acquainted with the system before the old officers graduate (most are usually seniors) and use the summer in a more productive manner, if desired. - Please email tchapin@emerald.tufts.edu (Tod) if you would like to help him with web page maintence / become the new webmaster in January - The National HFES conference is being held in Chicago 4 - 9 October. Professor Kriefeldt will be attending, but someone will be covering his classes. - For ENP 162, Todd Chapin is the TA. His office hours are M 2 - 3 and Th 3 -4 in room 318 of Anderson. He will be grading the labs and is available for questions regarding that and any questions on the material covered in class. Michael Man (mman) is the homework grader. Please ask him questions regarding grading of the homeworks. - If you like the Case Study section and would like to put a piece of work up there, please email tchapin and let him know. - To join the national chapter of the HFES, please visit the HFES web site (http://www.hfes.org/) and fill out the appropriate information - The National HFES chapter has unveiled a new job placement/search section. It's pretty cool and free to job seekers.
