Laura Pennett and Victor Paquet (a Tufts ENP graduate) came and spoke to us about the Department of Work Environment at UMASS Lowell. The program there specifies more on ergonomics than product design. In fact, the degrees which are available there are M.S. and Ph.D.s in Ergonomics, Epidemiology, Industrial Hygiene, Work Environment Policy, and Cleaner Production & Pollution Prevention.

The biggest project going on there now is with the "Big Dig", the largest highway project ever in the U.S. Construction worker ergnomics are being studied both on-site and in the laboratory.
