MOTOROLA's Land Mobile Products Sector, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, a leading supplier of hand held and mobile telecommunications products, has a permanent, full-time opportunity available as Human Factors & Ergonomics Specialist. You will apply your user-centered design and evaluation skills to the development of advanced two-way radio communications products working closely with Industrial Design, hardware and software engineering, marketing and customers ensuring ease-of-use. You will develop and deliver customer needs analyses, product requirements, rapid prototypes, and usability metrics including conducting field and laboratory usability tests. You will recommend design alternatives as a member of a high-energy group committed to developing excellent usable products. This is a 'hands-on' product design and evaluation position, not primarily a research position. The products tend to be small, highly featured, hand held and mobile communications devices with real-time, embedded microprocessors with typically small displays. Very few applications are GUI-type programs, consequently this is not a typical 'user interface' design position. REQUIREMENTS: Must have Ph.D. in Human Factors Engineering or Psychology (with emphasis in Human Factors) coupled with some experience in Product Design, Development, and Evaluation. Must have excellent communications skills and ability to work independently as part of a multi-disciplinary team. MOTOROLA offers excellent salary, benefits, and relocation assistance. MOTOROLA encourages diversity in the workplace and is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer, M/F/HDCP. Interested candidates are encouraged to EMAIL (preferred) their resume in ascii text format or work processing attachment to gcarlson@motjobs.com or FAX their resume to (218) 388-9428, Attn: George Carlson, CPC, MOTOROLA Staffing Consultant
