INTERNSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT =========================== The Usability Engineering Group at Cadence Design Systems is currently looking for highly motivated individuals interested in a minimum 6 month internship beginning early in 1997. Interns will work closely with other usability engineers and product development teams to improve the ease of use of Cadence products through activities such as task analysis, high and low fidelity prototyping, user interface specification development, usability testing, and customer visits. Individuals interested in the position should meet the following requirements: - Should be working towards a degree in Human-Computer Interactions, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. - Knowledge of methods used in Human-Computer Interaction, including user and task analysis, design, and usability evaluations. - Good interpersonal communication skills, including interviewing, listening, observing, and negotiation skills. - Good written and interpersonal skills - Ability to be flexible, organized and give attention to details - Strong technical skills and/or knowledge of electronic design automation preferred. - Prototyping skills or desire to learn prototyping tools (Visual Basic, Xdesigner, Toolbook, etc.) preferred - Unix experience preferred Cadence, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, is the largest supplier of software tools and professional services used to accelerate and manage the design of semiconductor, computer systems, networking and telecommunication equipment, consumer electronics, and a variety of other electronic-based products.
