Job Opportunity at SIEMENS: +++ Visual Interface Designer +++ The SIEMENS Usability Center in Johnson City, Tennessee, is seeking a visual interface designer to develop graphical and multimedia user interfaces for industrial automation software and for applications on the World Wide Web. This position will lead in the creation of distinctive design styles for singular products and whole product families. Job responsibilities * Create designs for new automation software products and refine existing designs. * Develop coherent designs for window and dialog box layouts, icons, toolbar buttons, etc. * Define and maintain a pool of interface design elements for common use across applications. * Direct conceptual design activities with mock-ups, scenarios, and storyboards. * Support an iterative design process with prototyping and usability testing. * Represent the design perspective in multifunctional teams throughout the development cycle. Job requirements * University degree in a multidisciplinary curriculum that includes Industrial or Graphics Design, Visual Arts, Human Factors, Psychology, and Computer Science. * Experience in applying graphic design skills to user interface design. * Experience in designing for international audiences. * Proficiency in using prototyping tools such as Director, Visual Basic, or Smalltalk. * Proficiency in using multimedia authoring tools from Adobe or Macromedia. * Strong communication skills. * Knowledge of German is a plus.
