Job Opportunity at SIEMENS: +++ Online Information Designer +++ Siemens Energy & Automation is seeking an online information designer to lead the design and implementation of the company's Automation Products WWW site at: http://www.aut.sea.siemens.com This position will be responsible for creating an original and effective design and establishing a variety of online customer support options. The position is associated with the Usability Center and will be located in Alpharetta, Georgia, north of Atlanta. Job responsibilities * Design and manage a WWW site that is appealing, easy to navigate, and rich in information. * Define and establish customer support features and services. * Define and establish the collection of customer data and feedback from WWW site visitors. * Coordinate content contributions from marketing groups. * Make effective use of internal and external resources and collaborate with respective teams, such as Web service provider, marketing communications, usability center, designers, and technical documentation. * Determine and guide the use of new interactive online media and presentation formats. * Determine and guide the use of database and revision control tools for maintaining consistency and operability. * Coordinate with other corporate WWW sites with respect to structure, style, and contents. Job requirements * Extensive knowledge in WWW design and publishing technology required: HTML, Java, VRML, Shockwave, Web servers, and database tools. * Proficiency in using multimedia authoring tools (Adobe, Macromedia). * Strong communication skills and ability to work pro-actively as a mediator between teams. * Writing skills, human factors expertise, and marketing experience very desirable. * Knowledge of German is a plus. Education and experience * University degree in a multidisciplinary curriculum that includes Information Design and Technology, Industrial or Graphics Design, English, Human Factors, and Computer Science. * At least one year of experience in WWW publishing required.
