USABILITY EVALUATION/TEST SPECIALIST

Objective

The Industrial Design / Human Interface Department (ID/HI),

is seeking a Usability Evaluation/Test

Specialist to strategize, plan and lead the development of innovative,

predictive, time and cost effective product testing methodologies in

support of emerging technologies.

We are looking for a proven Usability Evaluation Specialist with

experience in leading edge usability testing methodologies. This

individual will maintain constant contact with representative end

users to ensure user centered product design, and with internal

product program customers to whom this information will be

competitively essential. The ideal candidate will have proven

leadership, judgment, process, people skills, presentation skills and

industry knowledge.

Strategic Leadership

The Usability Evaluation Specialist will be the primary interface

between the evaluation team and the corporate community and will act in a

cooperative manner with all levels of managers, technical advisors,

designers, and technicians. The Usability Evaluation Specialist will

be adept at establishing productive relationships with internal and

external customers and promoting early / frequent product testing.

He/she will maintain an on-going effort to determine new business

value statements that link early/frequent product testing to end

quantifiable end user savings in time, expense and productvity.

He/She will maintain and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the

state of the art technology in hardware / software usability testing.

As part of their work they will examine competitive test

methodologies, think 3outside the box2, visualize concepts, and manage

a large number of variables to create or improve upon testing solutions.

Strategic Implementation

The Usability Evaluation Specialist will exhibit exemplary process

discipline by directing and managing breakthrough and critical

business initiatives / projects for use in testing emerging

technologies. To accomplish this an he/she must understand the

document business and make proposals that link testing opportunities

to business value opportunities. The specialist will be a proficient

practitioner of the quality management tools and will use these tools

to ensure process efficiency and effectiveness in achieving results.

Desired Qualifications

BA in related field, MA/MS preferred. Must be experienced in product

testing, test planning, administration and test process management.

Must have knowledge of document industry, product development process

& networked products.
