Software and User Interface Lab Cellular Subscriber Sector February 10, 1997 Title: User Interface Designer, Senior User Interface Designer Overview: There are currently two positions at MotorolaÕs Cellular Subscriber Software and User Interface Lab. This is a unique opportunity to be at the cutting edge of user interface design of small hand-held products. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of user interaction models and interfaces for advanced communication products. You will work with numerous product groups designing, simulating, and testing user interfaces for world-class products based on the latest technologies from our CSS Research Laboratories. Candidates need to possess strong innovative design, problem solving, and communication skills. You must have the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and must be able to lead these teams through a user-centered design approach. You must have a degree in Human Factors, Industrial Design, Information Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent with focus on the design of user interfaces. A background or understanding of programming and user interface simulation tools is required. The Senior position also requires good project management skills. Requirements for the User Interface Designer position: · Degree in Human Factors, Industrial Design, Information Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent with focus on the design of user interfaces. · Experience administering usability tests. · Experience with user interface prototype tools such as SuperCard, Director, HyperCard, Altia Design, Rapid, Visual Basic, etc. · Knowledge of software design considerations for implementation of user interfaces and a familiarity with high level programming languages such as C or C++. · Well developed communication skills for effectively communicating and presenting to other team members and management. Requirements for the Senior User Interface Designer position: · Degree in Human Factors, Industrial Design, Information Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent with focus on the design of user interfaces. · Minimum of two years user interface design experience following a user-centered design approach. · Experience designing and administering usability tests. · Experience managing group projects. · Experience with user interface prototype tools such as SuperCard, Director, HyperCard, Altia Design, Rapid, Visual Basic, etc. · Knowledge of software design considerations for implementation of user interfaces and a familiarity with high level programming languages such as C or C++. · Well developed communication skills for effectively communicating and presenting to other team members and management.
