KODAK PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
IN HUMAN/COMPUTER INTERACTION

Eastman Kodak Company is seeking applications from candidates for our =
professional internship program in human/computer interaction.  The =
internship program is for graduate students interested in industry or =
academic careers in HCI.  The term is 6 to 8 months starting in January, 
=
3 months starting in June, or 9 to 12 months starting in September.   The 
=
internship is a full-time position based in Rochester, New York, with =
competitive salary, benefits, and travel expense reimbursement.

JOB DUTIES - Interns work with Kodak user interface designers on applied 
=
problems and research in HCI design, prototyping, and usability 
evaluation=
.  We apply user-centered design and usability engineering methods to =
build software solutions for commercial electronic imaging products, =
imaging workstations, consumer desktop imaging products, digital cameras 
=
and scanners, retail imaging kiosks, and Internet imaging services.  =
Interns analyze customer needs, conduct benchmark product comparisons, =
build user interface prototypes, conduct usability evaluations and tests, 
=
and perform research on advanced user interface concepts.

PREREQUISITIES - Applicants should have completed 1 to 3 years in an =
accredited Masters or PhD degree program in Computer Science, Psychology, 
=
Industrial Engineering, Computer Graphics, or related discipline, with a 
=
focus on HCI.  Skills in graphical user interface design and prototyping 
=
with computer-based tools are required.  Coursework in human performance, 
=
cognition, software engineering, object-oriented technology, visual =
interaction design, graphics design, statistics and experimental design, 
=
or technical communication is important background.  Creative energy, =
initiative, teamwork skills, and written and oral communications is =
important, too.  U.S., Canadian, or Mexican citizenship, or visa status =
that permits work in the U.S., is required.
