To all HF students: I have several research positions available starting in September, 1998. One potential position is an exciting project redesigning the launch processing system for the Space Shuttle at Kennedy Space Center. This project would involve ergonomic development of the systems engineering console and/or environmental evaluation of the personnel and information flows in the firing rooms. Specifics can be tailored to your interests and abilities. US citizenship or permanent resident status is required for this position. Other positions do not have this requirement. Florida International University is a public university located in Miami Florida. The Industrial and Systems Engineering Department has twelve faculty conducting research in ergonomics, human-computer interaction, manufacturing systems, and operations research.
