The Service Concept and Design department at GTE Laboratories is still
searching for students to fill paid positions, working about 8-12
hours per week. (Never mind what you may have heard before, we are _not_
asking you to work 20+ hours a week). 

  The are a number of projects going on in the department, all having to
do with human factors. The one I am most familiar with is the SuperPages
Yellow Pages project, a yellow pages service which is available on the Web
(http://yp.gte.net). This  involves both usability testing, user
interface design work and prototyping new features. There are a number
of other projects underway involving Internet telephony, group
collaboration software, and other more short term usability projects.

of technologies required by GTE Corporation's core telecommunications
