If you want to go home feeling good about the work that you^Òve done that day, feel good about the people and environment you have been working in, if you like the idea of designing communication products that meet emerging customer needs, then talk with us so you can fully understand what we are doing in the Corporate Design Group of Nortel Technology^Òs research and development labs. We need user interface designers to bring their expertise to the definition, exploration and implementation of multimedia, small system and network management concepts. You must have an advanced degree in cognitive science, human factors, or a related field and preferably some experience in UI product design. An understanding of speech recognition, character recognition and other emerging technology capabilities, user models, and rapid prototyping will make you invaluable. Equally important are interpersonal and communication skills which allow you to thrive either in the hotseat of a development environment (Calgary, Alberta) or the fuzzy front-end of product definition (Ottawa, Ontario). We're different in many ways, but you have to talk to us to understand.
