The current opening is in the department developing the Symposium Call Center products. Primary Responsibilities of Position: You will be involved in all phases of the design cycle for the Symposium Call Center Server in a Windows NT and Windows 95 environment. Working directly with the development team building the products, this position involves design and analysis of features and interfaces for end users and administrators. Youwill interact with customers, product management, and other development groups at various locations. Applicants will have the following qualifications: - minimum three years UI design experience (with a focus on GUIs) - up-front user centered design experience - strong prototyping abilities - proven skills in problem solving and oral and written communication - the ability to work well both in a team and independently - specialized training in user interface design - university degree in a related field (e.g. Industrial Engineering, HCI, Computer Science, Psychology, Industrial Design, etc. ) Preference will be given to applicants who also have any of: - experience with user interface design for telecom applications, especially call centers, messaging, or IVR - usability testing experience - graphical design skills (icons, screen layouts) - experience with multi-user, client-server database applications - programming experience Nortel is a leading global manufacturer of telecommunications equipment and systems.
