As a Usability Engineer at Netscape, you^Òll participate as a key member of a product development team that includes marketing managers, user interface designers, and software developers to engineer usability into Netscape^Òs products. As a specialist for server products, you^Òll create and implement usability studies in short turnaround periods, including out-of-the-ordinary ones that provide valuable and valid data. You^Òll help develop and implement creative UI design ideas for breakthrough usability and excellent user satisfaction. Required Experience: 1. Degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Technical Communication or related area (or equivalent experience). 2. At least 3-4 years experience in conducting a variety of usability studies, including user and task analysis, field studies, heuristic evaluations, design walkthroughs and formal usability tests throughout a product's lifecycle. 3. Must be extremely well organized, innovative and forward thinking, and able to work in a fast-paced, but extremely exciting environment. 4. Strong analytical and oral and written communication skills. Additional Desired Qualifications: 1. Experience in usability engineering Internet/Intranet applications. 2. Experience in working with and knowledge of client/server applications.
