About the Position: ------------------- As a Research Engineer/Associate, you will be responsible for comprehensive project management and work with the firm's principal engineers to develop and execute plans for researching various issues related to product and occupational safety, accident investigation, and human factors in general. Example project activities may include standards research, research and analysis of technical literature, biomechanical analyses, applied empirical research and data analysis. About Ann Arbor: ---------------- ASE is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This university town offers a host of outstanding cultural activities, sporting events, and unique restaurants. Nearby recreation areas and lakes offer both summer and winter time activities, such as skiing, boating, hiking and mountain biking. Ann Arbor is less than an hour's drive from the entertainment, sporting events, and museums available in Detroit metropolitan area. Candidate Requirements: ----------------------- Candidates must have B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Safety, Human Factors Engineering/Psychology, Ergonomics, Mechanical Engineering or allied field. A successful candidate would also have aptitude for or experience with one or more of the following areas: product safety analysis, warnings design/research, accident evaluation, research and analysis of technical literature, biomechanical analyses, applied empirical research and data analysis. Mechanical aptitude, interest in products liability law/product safety, and good technical writing skills are preferred.
