Welcome and thank you for visiting our website. The Persian Association at Tufts University is a student-run, non-political, non-religious, cultural club. Membership is open to all members of the Tufts community who are interested in Iran and its culture. The goal of the association is to promote Persian culture and awareness of Iranian-American cultural issues on campus. Meetings are held bi-weekly. Though the association is run by undergraduate students on the Medford campus, all interested Tufts students are invited and encouraged to take part in our organization.

In its short history, the Persian Association has celebrated Norouz, the Iranian new year, and has sponsored a benefit for victims of the 1997 Ardebil earthquake in Iran. Additionally, through cooperation with the Persian clubs of other Boston area universities, other gatherings have also been and continue to be organized.

An effort is currently underway to unite members of this Persian Association with those of other Persian / Iranian clubs in other Boston area universities. This is being co-sponsored by the Iranian Association of Boston.

The Persian Association has been officially recognized by the Tufts University Student Senate as of October 1996. Persian and Iranian clubs have, however, previously existed at Tufts, the most recent being the Persepolis Iranian Cultural Society of the early 1990s.
