Chapter 5: Convection

Problems for Chapter 5 Note: These problems are NOT your homework assignments. Homeworks will be assigned in class on a separate handout. A pot of water, 20 cm in diameter and 15 cm tall, is kept at boil on a stove. The convection coefficient on top and side surfaces is 25 W/m2K, and the room temperature is 22 °C. Calculate the heat loss due to convection, neglecting the bottom surface.
