Welcome to IECWS!

IECWSThe International Environmental Change Workshop Series is a series of teacher workshops on global environmental change to be presented each summer, co-sponsored and co-directed by the Wright Center for Innovative Science Education at Tufts University with partners such as the NASA Chandra X-Ray Education and Outreach Program, Clean Air- Cool Planet, MIT Sea Grant, Glacier National Park, The Glacier Institute, Virgin Islands National Park, The Virgin Islands Environmental Research Station, and others. Using a system analysis approach, these workshops enable teams of teachers (K-14) to investigate environmental change through classroom instruction and hands-on involvement in current scientific field and/or laboratory research. Workshops take place at field camps across the United States and abroad.

Special Note: The Summer 2008 and 2009 Cryosphere workshop will be taking place as part of the International Polar Year (IPY) educational activities and will focus on research being conducted by the WAIS Divide Ice Coring Project.
