Preparing Grants and Contracts Proposals The Office of the Vice Provost is responsible for the coordination of proposal submission and the acceptance of awards for grants and contracts at Tufts University. These externally funded grants and contracts are available from various sources including federal agencies, state and local governments, foundations and corporations. Proposals come in many forms. The Office of the Vice Provost has assembled a page on Types of Proposals and a Glossary of Terms. All faculty initiated requests for support, regardless of funding source, must be processed by the Office of the Vice Provost. This is to ensure that if the grant is awarded, the University is prepared to receive and administer the funds. The office is also often required to make reports on ongoing and pending grants and contracts, and complete data is necessary. Certain specific grant programs limit the number of applications from each institution. Prospective applicants should contact the Office of the Vice Provost as early as possible to be informed of the specific internal review process which may be required. |
