A Note from the Vice Provost

Welcome to our newsletter. Its purpose is to provide investigators at Tufts with helpful information. In Researchers @ Tufts, you will find background on new members of the faculty and information about their current research and interest in collaboration opportunities. Each issue of Research News also includes a Featured Core Facility or Center to publicize these Tufts resources. Inside the OVP you will find office updates, information on grants and contracts in Research Administration, tech transfer information in the Office for Technology Licensing and Industry Collaboration, and news on human subjects research in the Institutional Review Board articles. What's New @ Our Affiliates? highlights research at one of our affiliated hospitals, and Funded Research lists projects awarded funding during January 2007 through September 2007. The Archives section contains articles from past issues. The “DID YOU KNOW?” on the left side of each page offers brief announcements. You can scroll through all the announcements by clicking on the screen’s reload button or by clicking to a new page. Research News @ Tufts is part of the continuing effort of the Provost's Office to foster an environment that supports and encourages research.

The Office of the Vice Provost is sponsoring a Symposium on Women in Science, Medicine and Engineering on Friday, April 4, 2008, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM, in the Jaharis Family Center for Biomedical and Nutrition Sciences, 150 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA. Program topics include “Mentoring, Networking,” “Demystifying the Promotion Process,” and “Negotiation.” I hope you will join us for this important event.
