9.20.06 A Jumbo year for giving
Thanks to the generosity of alumni, friends, parents, corporations, and foundations, Tufts University raised an astounding $217 million this past fiscal year in support of academic and research priorities. The total is a significant increase from last year's achievement of $103 million.
It was also a banner year for Arts, Sciences & Engineering, with more than 23,000 alumni, friends and parents supporting undergraduate education, including more than 3,000 first-time donors. Collectively their philanthropy totaled $129.5 million, up from $103 million last year. Of that achievement, $6 million supported the Annual Fund and $123 million funded capital projects. In addition, reunion classes set a new record of $67 million, raised over the past five years. Each gift goes a long way to ensuring that the university can attract and support outstanding students and faculty.
The donor list highlights giving to Tufts University from July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006 by alumni of the undergraduate schools of Arts & Sciences and Engineering.
