AS&E Alumni Giving Report: Looking back at 2010-2011
Thanks to the generosity of thousands of alumni, parents, and friends, Tufts successfully exceeded the expectations for Beyond Boundaries: The Campaign for Tufts. Gifts of every size combined to total more than $1.2 billion, which will be invested in the future success of Tufts students and programs.
What is even more impressive than this gift total is the number of individuals who support the university. In just this past fiscal year, more than 16,000 people contributed to Tufts. This was the greatest increase in alumni participation in more than eight years!
This past spring, a generous alumnus challenged 20 classes—reunion classes and graduates of the last decade—to secure 50 donors in one month. This alumnus offered to fund a scholarship in honor of each class that met this challenge. Alumni response to this opportunity was unprecedented. Fourteen classes met the challenge, which earned scholarships for fourteen current students. This fall, these scholarships will be awarded to Tufts students and named for the following classes: 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2003, 2001, 1996, 1991, 1986, 1981, 1976, and 1971.
The reports below highlight giving to Tufts from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011 and include all gifts made to the university by alumni of the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering.
