In honor of National Volunteer Week, April 15–21, Tufts would like to say thank you.
Thank you to the thousands of volunteers who not only gave their time to Tufts, but also immediately impacted the student experience by embodying the spirit of giving.
Your work has shaped our university and we’re still counting the ways you’re making a difference to the Tufts community. With no small amount of pride, let’s look back at the great work you did in 2011.
200 registered runners raced in the President’s Marathon Challenge, while raising more than $410,000 in support of nutrition, medical, and fitness programs at Tufts. 225 Jumbo volunteers showed their support for the runners along the 26.2-mile course, while a total 230 runners wore yellow PMC singlets for the race.
3,500 Tufts Alumni Admissions Program volunteers completed 8,801 interviews to help shape the class of 2015.
2,988 families supported their child’s Tufts experience by contributing $2,153,430 to the Parents Fund for Arts, Sciences & Engineering.
138 Tufts Fund Gift Officers raised more than $698,936 for the Tufts Fund for Arts, Sciences & Engineering from 1,107 donors.
15 alumni created 3 new Shared Interest Groups: Young Friends of Tufts Advancement, Washington, D.C. (YFTA DC), Tufts Environmental Alumni, and Tufts Real Estate Network.
18 Young Friends of Tufts Advancement (YFTA) Gift Officers raised a total of $26,871 for the Tufts Fund for Arts, Sciences & Engineering. They also held an event in New York City that was attended by more than 300 young alumni and facilitated 50 gifts to Tufts.
Approximately 8,500 alumni attended 235 alumni events, many of which raised money, and donated goods and time and energy to community causes across the country.
