David, from Livingston, N.J., is a recipient of a Stern Family Scholarship, established through the generosity of James Stern, E72, chairman of Tufts' Board of Trustees, and his wife, Jane. David plans to major in quantitative economics with a view to pursuing graduate work in economics and a career in finance or economic research. An Eagle Scout at 14, he was active in rowing as a freshman at Tufts.

What he enjoys about Tufts

"The professors I've had here are all extremely dedicated and many are experts in their fields. It's been great to learn from and exchange ideas with people who care so much about each student."

Why he's grateful

"I'd like to thank James Stern for recognizing my potential and awarding me this scholarship. I hope to someday follow his example of giving back to those who have contributed to my success."
