Women ages 18-45 years OR women older than 60 years

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of aging and weight loss on iron status and immune response in women. Participants are patients of the Weight and Wellness Center at Tufts Medical Center. They will be asked for two blood sample collections, one before weight loss and one after, and to provide 3-day food records before each blood draw and once per month during their participation in the study. |

2 visits for blood draw and food record review, 2-3 additional visits for food record review (these can be done over the phone). We make every effort to schedule study visits on the same days that participants have appointments at the Weight and Wellness Center. |

This study is being done in collaboration with the Weight and Wellness Center at Tufts Medical Center. All study visits will happen there. |
Study diet |
Participants will follow weight loss regime at the Weight and Wellness Center, where they will also meet with dietitians on a regular basis. |
| Payment |
$25 for each blood draw. Also, any costs relating to transportation for study visits will be reimbursed. |
