Did You Know?

Located at 8 Professors Row, Capen House was built and named for Tufts president Elmer Hewitt Capen. When Capen became president in 1875, the Trustees felt that it would be desirable to have the incoming president live on the campus rather than commute. The house was completed the following year for $21,692, and served as a home for the next three Tufts presidents.
