Medical School Clinical Electives |
International Student Enrollment in Medical Rotations Enrollment by International Students in the medical rotation/elective program is very limited and granted on a first-come, first-served basis to highly qualified students. You may apply for a one-month rotation only, as space is very limited. Students from non-US/ non-LCME Medical Schools wishing to apply to Tufts Medical School in fourth-year electives must complete the required application form and include a non-refundable $75 application fee payable by check or money order to the Trustees of Tufts College and mail it to the International Affairs Office (IAO) along with the attached forms. Please Note: You must be in your final year of medical school to be considered for these electives. No foreign medical school graduates will be considered. You must be a foreign citizen. Do NOT apply if you are a U.S. citizen; these rotations are not for U.S. citizens attending medical school abroad. The applicant will be informed of the acceptance decision in writing. If accepted, the applicant must forward the following to the International Affairs Office no later than one month before the start of the rotation:
Students normally may enroll in rotations on a B-1 medical clerkship visa. However, if the applicant is required by the U.S. consul overseas to enter the United States on an F-1 or J-1 visa, the applicant must request a financial declaration form from the International Affairs Office and mail it back to us. Students applying from medical schools where English is NOT the language of instruction and who score less than 240 (computer based test) or 94-95 (the internet based test) on the TOEFL must call the Registrar’s Office for a brief telephone interview. This interview is required before the application will be considered for a rotation. Students whose language skills are deemed unsatisfactory or substandard will not be scheduled for a rotation and their processing fee will be returned. Downloads
