June 16	Tuesday	Academic year begins for second year students in the MD/MBA program (Class of 2012). *Attendance is required*.
June 22		Academic year begins for first year students in the MD/MBA program (Class of 2013). Orientation and Registration will be held. *Attendance is required*.
July 3	Friday	Fourth of July observed. Administrative offices closed.
July 6		Start date for fourth year rotations, Class of 2010. Third Year Orientation, Class of 2011.
August 3		Last day for payment of first semester tuition for all students.
August 3		Academic year begins for first year students in the Maine Track program (Class of 2013). Orientation will be held at Maine Medical Center, Portland, ME.
August 17		Academic year begins for second year students in the MD, MD/MPH, MD/MSE, MD/MA and MD/PhD programs (Class of 2012). Orientation and Registration will be held for all students in all degree programs. *Attendance is required*.

November 11		Veterans' Day observed. Administrative offices closed. No classes for first and second year students. Third and fourth year students must check with the hospital services regarding holiday time off.
November 26-27		Thanksgiving recess. Administrative offices closed. No classes for first and second year students. Third and fourth year students must check with the hospital services regarding holiday time off.
December 4		Last day for payment of second semester tuition for all students.
December 21		Vacation begins for all students.
December 24-25		Christmas holiday observed. Administrative offices closed.
January 1	Friday	New Year's holiday observed. Administrative offices closed.
January 4		Rotations resume for third and fourth year students. Classes resume for first and second year students.
January 18		Martin Luther King, Jr. Day observed. Administrative offices closed. No classes for first and second year students. Third and fourth year students must check with the hospital services regarding holiday time off.
February 15		Presidents' Day observed. Administrative offices closed. No classes for first and second year students. Third and fourth year students must check with the hospital services regarding holiday time off.
March 18	Thursday	Residency Matching Program results released at Noon for Class 2010.
March 22		Spring Break vacation begins for first and second year students, Classes of 2013 and 2012.
March 29		Classes resume for first and second year students, Classes of 2013 and 2012.
April 19		Patriots' Day observed. Administrative offices closed. No classes for first and second year students. Third and fourth year students must check with hospital services.
April 24		Graduation requirements must be completed by fourth year students, Class of 2010.
May 12	Wednesday	Last day of the academic year for second year students, Class of 2012.
May 21	Friday	Last day of the academic year for first year students, Class of 2013.
May 23	Sunday	Commencement ceremony, Medford Campus, Class of 2010.
May 31		Memorial Day observed. Administrative offices closed. Third year students must check with the hospital service.
June 18		Academic year ends for third year students, Class of 2011.

Holidays
The administrative offices of Tufts University School of Medicine observe the holidays listed on this calendar, and classes are not held for first and second year students. Observation of all holidays by third and fourth year students is determined by the hospitals and is contingent upon the student's clinical responsibilities. Holidays observed on the TUSM school calendar do not define holidays for third and fourth year students and may be excluded.
