The second biennial Mary Y. Lee, MD, Medical Education Day took place on March 31, 2010. The event honored former Dean for Educational Affairs, Mary Lee, MD (currently Associate Provost, Tufts University), a leader and innovator in medical education. The day included a plenary speaker, John Mahoney, a poster session, and presentation exploring many aspects of student and resident education. The Conference schedule also allowed all attendees to attend two afternoon workshops.

John Mahoney

Dr. John Mahoney

Dr. John Mahoney, associate dean for medical education and associate professor of emergency medicine, has long championed curricular improvement and innovation at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. In addition to being one of the designers of the school's integrated clerkships, he has led changes in medical education methodology and content that have significantly influenced the entire curriculum. His creativity has resulted in hallmark innovations in simulation, public health preparedness and technology. Dr. Mahoney continues to seek effective ways to improve the connections between students, faculty and patients
