Neurosurgery

The Department of Neurosurgery is an active clinical service that encourages student participation at all levels. In the first and second years students can choose electives in outpatient care. The faculty helps teach the clinical specialties rotation in the third year. In the fourth-year elective, students may participate as clinical clerks. The neurosurgical laboratory has several ongoing experiments in the areas of cerebrovascular disease, neuroendocrinology, and neuroanatomy. Students are encouraged to work on these projects as their time permits.
