An Innovative Curriculum
Our students thrive in an intellectually stimulating, rigorous academic environment with plenty of opportunity for clinical practice. We have a reputation for an innovative curriculum, dynamic teaching and a "hands on" approach to learning. In fact, we pioneered problem-based learning, which has been adopted by nearly every medical school in the country. We also offer TUSK, a robust online database that stores all the material from the entire medical school curriculum. Read more about our Curriculum.
A Collaborative Approach
Our highly accessible faculty and students frequently work side by side on projects, sharing results and credit. We foster a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere, which encourages students to learn from each other as well as their teachers.
Early and Extensive Clinical Exposure
We are located in downtown Boston, Massachusetts on a resource-rich campus that is home to several Tufts health research and teaching institutions, including the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, and the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging. Next door is our main clinical affiliate, Tufts Medical Center, a world-class academic medical center that offers outstanding patient care, conducts groundbreaking research, and trains our students in the latest medical practices. We are also in one of the major East coast cities, and have strong ties to the community.
A Culturally Rich Environment
The city of Boston is home to first-rate medical centers, three medical schools, and dozens of biomedical ventures. There's probably no place in the world as exciting to be a physician--or a medical student. It's also a major tourist attraction thanks to its history, its beauty and its cultural offerings.
