"Measuring, Auditing and Improving Antimicrobial Prescribing"

Objectives of this course are identifying sources of data and understanding how to measure antimicrobial use in the community and in hospitals, selecting a proper measurement unit for antimicrobial consumption, making sense of antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance data, both locally and within a multicentre study or network, choosing and applying a method to study the relationship between antimicrobial prescribing and bacterial resistance, choosing and applying an audit methodology for monitoring the quality of antimicrobial prescriptions, and identifying possible interventions to improve antimicrobial prescribing, which could be implemented at the local or at the national level.

Speakers include APUA's Dr. Anibal Sosa.
