City & Campus
Tufts School of Medicine students have one of the country's most venerable - and most vibrant - cities as their playground. The capital city of Massachusetts, Boston is home to approximately 600,000 people and offers a rich abundance of culture, from world-class dining and shopping to artistic venues, such as symphony, ballet, opera, live theatre, jazz, and much more.
A major attraction for tourists from all over the world, Boston is located right on the Charles River, but it is also just a skip and a hop away from the Blue Hills. Boston is divided into over twenty neighborhoods. Major tourist attractions include the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox, the North End, the Back Bay and the south shore.
There are more colleges and universities in Boston than anywhere else, including Harvard and MIT. Boston's oldest school is the Boston Latin School (founded in 1630).
